if you use the search function, there is quite a bit on stainless valves.

1.70 and 1.5 are the largest practical valves 1.44 is a common size to put in. Search for Engine Builder on the forum or buy from him on eBay.

Lots of people have done 1.78" intake valves too. I had a head with 1.78" intake and 1.45" exhaust valves. They were Ford 300 I-6 valves with the exhaust cut down from 1.56". I don't think a 1.78" intake gains much flow over the 1.70" unless you do some good unshrouding work. In fact some of the fastest racers run 1.72" Chevy intake valves. The Ford big six valves were semi-popular for a while as they are the proper overall length, but since the stems are smaller you have to do valve guides and swap retainers and locks, but doing so doesn't cost you anything if you were already going to be doing guides and buying retainers and locks. You just buy different parts. Folks that aren't buying new retainers and locks like the 1.70/1.44" valves sold by EBay member ENGNBLDR. I've bought two sets myself and they appear to be nice pieces.
