If the Hyper Pak is indeed getting discontinued, as I have heard here, what other good intakes are out on the market? Would a hand-fabbed sheet aluminum piece be the way to go? Or is there a good alternative?

I've seen some of the other manifolds at Clifford, but how good are they compared to the Hyper-Pak?

I've read that most of the top slant six racers use Clifford manifolds. I use their water heated intake (#45-4500-WH) on my daily driver truck and it works great. Offenhauser makes manifolds for the slant also and they are a little less money than Clifford's.

For the street I am partial to the Offy. I replaced an Offy with a Clifford and I'm pretty sure I lost some low end torque. I may get to the track this weekend and see.

I just heard that Clifford was making the Hyper Pak. Now it's gone again before I could even save up for one? Did they not sell enough to make it worth their while or was there some other problem?

Did you call Clifford about a Hyper-Pak?
Last time I checked they had about 20 of them ready to ship.

I was just responding to this post. I guess if anyone would know about the Hyper Pak's fate you would. Seeing as how you were the one that got Clifford to start making them. Do you know how much they cost from Clifford? I haven't called yet.

$299 was the last quoted price I heard about.

Give them a call and ask for the price and how many they have in stock.
My bet is that the price will go up as their inventory goes down.

I just ordered a Hyper-pac from Cliffords and they were currently out of stock but said that they would have some in about a month,I have already sent them a money order and it was $330 including the shipping costs. I already have a Proline setup on my truckwith a Clifford header but i want to put the H-P on my 61 valiant.

Sounds like Clifford sold all of the units from last run of H-Paks and is doing another run. I sure hope this is true...

I had it from a reliable source that when Jack Clifford "passed-on" and the Clifford warehouse / shop was moved, lots of stuff was thrown-out, including many casting patterns.
No one seemed to know if the H-Pak casting pattern was one of those tossed, sounds like it was kept. (Most likely it was still at the foundry and was not part of the move effort)

Looks like the repop H-Pak is "alive and well", lets see how long it take Clifford to get more inventory on this unit, my bet is May of 2003.
(I hope I'm wrong)

A custom sheet metal intake could be a potent choice, but if I were going that way I'd use three Weber DCOE carbs or port EFI instead of trying to get the mixture right with a Holley four barrel.

My Dart will be using an Offy manifold when I get it running. Got a good deal on it secondhand as part of Wayne's turbo setup.

Recently, there's been a lot of focus on intakes with two Webers. These intakes seem to be very streetable and provide excellent power, although I'm not sure how they compare to a single Holley for all out power. They are availible from ProLine Fuel and Pierce Manifolds.

Pierce Manifolds also sells a manifold for the slant six with three Weber DCOE's. That's definitely a piece with a high drool rating, with performance to back its looks.

Plus, sometimes you see some of the old Lynx multi-carb manifolds turn up on Ebay.

Pierce quoted me $1470.00 for the set up. I am definatly going to run this set up, should add some serious hp...never hurt Alfa Romeo or other European racers.
