Does the door still rise all the way to the heat-on position like it did before? What size vacuum tube did you use?

Yes, it still raises up. I actually used some washer fluid hose I had. Its a small ID and OD so it dosn't interfier with the operation of the door. Its the same size as some vacuum hose you may find on, say, a Holley 1945. Don't know how long it will last though. I'm sure the heat will harden it up pretty fast.

I'll give that a try! Looks like the leading edge of the door is sort of wrapped/curled under, so it could be difficult to get the hose onto the door itself...

Yeah, on mine it is slightly raised on the trailing edge (facing the air cleaner). It almost looks like it was put there to draw a slight amount of hot air into the air cleaner. Guess the engineers had a reason for this...Did that guy from Fram ever get back to you?

I find the rattle coming from the leading edge of the door hitting the floor of the snorkel,
I don't have, or have seen this particular rigging, but understand its basic architecture. How about a small bead of silicone to form a stop for the door?
