Well I finally got my engine back late last night.Only 6 days to get it installed and broken in.Still have to get the front end alignment done and try out the Cal Trac rear suspension.Anyone close to Prescott Valley to come and help me this weekend? I'm trying sooooo hard to make it to Vegas next week.My hopes are fading but I'm gonna give it every effort.Proably won't be tuned properly but if I can make it to the track I know I'll have the best of help.Well time to get to work!

Why didn't you ask for help when it was -30 degrees outside? This week is going to be in the 60's so I am staying home.

Good luck getting everything done!!! You can do it!!

I can gaurantee that if you get the car to Vegas, running or not, you will have a decent running car by the time eliminations start. I've seen it happen more than once at a Slant race, and a couple times at Vegas almost every year. :D :D :D :D :D

Yeah, but I suggested to him in his other thread NOT to follow that example!

When I finally get back to the states I want to be able to race and get to know people, not thrash on the car the whole weekend! That's what the off season and non-race weekends are supposed to be for.

I never met so many people at a race as when I "fixed" my NP 208 Tranfer case on a trailer deck between rounds.

I got the motor in saturday and the transmission. Can't put the motor in with the trans in place due to space limits with the oil pan.I had to adjust the bands in the trans anyways and it's much easier on the floor.Got everthing done underneath yesterday and put on the intake and header
( I hate that job). All I have left is the water pump.radiator and related.Still need to sort out a couple of wires. If I don't have band practice tonight I am going to fire it up and see how it all goes.I did correct the oil filter adaptor problem and relocated it underneath for better flow and cooling.I'll post some photos or proably a vidio on you tube in the next day or so.I'm gettintg close though.Just got to make sure everything is proper.

OK tomorrow is the day.I'm all set to get it fired up and retourque the head, reset the valves ect.Going to try and get a appointment for a alignment on friday. If everything checks out good I can head to Mopars at the Strip but I can't leave until about 2am sunday morning. That means no test and tune (I'll do a little here before going).I haven't pre-regristrated yet because I'm not sure if I'll even make it.Can I run on Sunday? Even if I haven't pre-regristrided?I have to work on Friday and play Saturday night so I'm out of time. Can I show up on Sunday and run or not.My wife says I'm nuts to work all day Friday,Saturday morning, play in my band that night and leave at 2:30 in the morning.I told her I've been tring since last year to make it and I'm gonna do whatever it takes.I just need to know if I get this thing buttoned up will I be able to run? Thanks for all your help and look forwards to making it there(gonna be a long weekend thought). :?

You can just run in the money race on Sunday as long as you get there in time to find someone to tech the car / give you a number.

It sounds like you're pushing pretty hard (too hard?) to get there.

Are you going to drive the car to Vegas or tow it?

Is someone going with you to share the driving?

Just be careful! We'd all hate to hear that you had an accident trying to get there after working 'til 0230. Hopefully you'll have some time to test the car a little before making that drive.

Good luck either way. I'll be waiting to see how it goes.

Well, sorted out the wiring for the ingition box, retourqued the head set the valves, changed the jets and power valve and went for a ride around the block.Power steering pump started to leak.Need to replace that today as well as drop the car off for the alignment.Need to call Richmond this morning and make sure the noises I hear from the rearend are supposed to be there,I think it's just the lock/unlock I can here but want to be sure.Still trying to make it to Vegas for at least Sunday and try and run the car.Don't look good.I posted some additional photos  http://www.flickr.com/photos/emptypockets/

Schweeeet! :D That is definitely one of the cleanest assemblies I have seen. Whether you make it to Vegas this weekend or not, it's a beautiful car!
