hello im new here. i own a 64 dodge dart 270. originally had a 170 slant three on the tree. well at 70,000 i spun a rocker bearing in the 170 two weeks ago...with good oil level and oil pressure...its a mystery. but any ways i got a 71 225 and put in it. hopefully i have better luck witht he 225. anyways..kudos to the person who knows what the two hugeee differences are between the 64 170 and the 71 225 that would not allow the engine to go in,...lets see some knowledge guys.

Oil pan/pickup needed to be changed as did the flywheel.

No bearings in the rockers. Do you mean connecting rod? Bearings that have oil in them rarely fail.
