Hi everybody look forward to gaining a better understanding of the Slant 6
:D

My slant 6 is an original 32000 miles motor in a 1960 Dodge Dart - I now have my first problem Issue :?: Had the oil and filter changed all good till start up the next day, oil light stayed on for a long time it appeared as though the oil had drained out of the filter (a presumtion as the filter mounts upside down) changed the brand same problem
Is there a special filter to use if so what brand where do I find one ........... she runs good no noise oil light goes out as it should it's just when she sits overnight or till cold that its an issue

Cheers bigears/Andy

Sure, go to NAPA and get a 1806, or a WIX 1806. It has the built in stand pipe so the oil doesn't drain back. I run Mobil 1 0-30W synthetic and it hits 50 lbs. at start up. Thye cost a little more but are sure worth it.

Yep, use a Wix #51806 or NAPA Gold #1806 filter. Don't know where you had the work done, but stay out of those quicky oil change franchises (Jiffy Lube, Wal-Mart, Pep Boys, etc.); they use poor-quality filters and tend to work carelessly. Just ask Doug!

It will also be a good idea to service the oil pressure relief valve to make sure it's doing its job, as described in these two threads: thread 1, thread 2.
