Recently, I aquired a slant six 727 TF that came from an early '70's truck. Are the gear ratio's the same as the ratio's used in the 904 and automotive 727's?

727s OEM gear ratios were always 2.45, 1.45, 1.00, with OD applications .68.

Thanks Cecil. I have alway heard that the truck trannys had a lower first gear. Guess not!

There was a low 1st gear set available, from Mopar Performance, at one time. Don't know if it is still available, not cheap. Don't know if it was ever installed stock from the factory. Defer the Cecil on that.
