I had almost forgoten about this. I purchased a 65 A-100 van sometime back, it had a adapter to put a 727 behind a /6. I was wandering if anyone else had seen one of these. I thought it would be beneficial in being able to put one of the newer 727 based overdrives behind my 225.

Yep, had one myself. You can use the adapter to put just about any small block bellhousing behind the slant. I'd use a smaller, lighter A500 before the A518. Dart270 (Lou) has an A500 in one of his cars.

So if I were to machine the crank spacer for a pilot bearing could I use it to adapt a manual trans. The reason I ask is my truck is a 833 overdrive truck and it would be nice to put a five speed in it.

Sure. Is your hub spacer small register or large?

I've got a 67 A100 with the same setup. It does give you some options, don't know about a manual swap though.
