:?: Vynn, I know just how things are for you. We spent over 2K on a trip to see my daughter graduated from college. The afternoon before we depart the wife gets a layoff notice.

I STILL don't have my car back. After waiting two years to have the body work done and get it painted, I get a half eaten body shell back half in primer. I actually had to go and fetch it from the guy's shop. He wasn't allowed near it: He had a restraining order on him after taking a swing at his wife. Acuses me of "stealing" my own car. (even called the sheriff!!) Made the mistake of paying up front. Probably cost me 2 grand again. Another fellow I race with said he'd paint it for cost (materials) but fitting in between his regular body shop work takes a while.

The the septic pump takes a crap. Thousand bucks. Still can't get my Dually to run right ($650 and counting). Don't even get me started on the attempted ripoff by the local Dodge dealer on my wife's Durango.Thank goodness I found a local shop that knows its busness. Didn't charge me for procedure that didn't fix a problem. Hey a $5500 scanner SAID it was bad.................

Ya know Vynn, mebbe we DO need a road trip.............................. RICK

Amen, Rick. Sure would be nice. maybe we can afford to "get away" to Denton... :)

Sorry things are sucking for you, too. Maybe things will turn around soon. Hey, since you're dealing with a half-eaten body, do you know anyone who could fill a couple of small holes with metal "on site"? I've got two holes in the windshield frame, and I can't get behind them. I don't really want to figure out where to get a trailer, load the car up, and take it somewhere to be fixed. Any ideas?

Thanks, Lou, I'm still praying things turn around suddenly and I can find my way to NE. But if not, I'll be all the more determined to make it NEXT year!

I suppose I could load the 110V wire feed in the trunk of the Dart for ya... But that means you are going to have to show up in NE

There's the rub, Cars... I can't drive the Swinger to NE until I put the windshield back in, and I can't put the windshield back in till the holes are fixed...  Oh, the dilemma...

AWESOME!!!

I was getting a little worried about this event. It seems like interest is dying off for some reason (I suspect the economy is the excuse/reason).

So... the road trip starts either very early on Friday (3 or 4 am) or Thursday???

Still no closer to having my car back than I was almost FIVE years ago.

Just sad to see the holiday weekend draw to a close, not looking forward to going to work in the morning. I could have gotten a bunch done this weekend. But, hey, maybe it'll be finished this week. Getting it put together for mid-August would be a thrash. Enough of this whiney crap already

On the other hand, I do have some givaways for the race, could somebody maybe PM me Mike's shop address.

Talked to Mike last night, there is nothing going on at the track Friday except some photo shoots. Track will not be open to the public. :(

Dago, PM me if you still need Mike's address. I have it around here somewhere.
