Thanks for all your input. After much testing I discovered what caused the fluttering/cutting out problem when I mashed the throttle to the floor boards at zero vacuum. I had forgotten that I screwed the vacuum advance all the way in when I was testing various initial timing settings. At 10 degrees it fluttered bad when I stomped on it with the pod fully engaged. I checked with a light and saw the pod was adding several degrees at idle even on the ported vacuum port. So I unscrewed the pod 3 turns and bingo! rock steady 10 degrees initial, and no more flutter. It takes off with much better authority and runs smoothly up to 90 miles per hour or so. I usually run out of road with the 2.76 posi so I haven't hit 4000 rpm yet. So just a little too much timing will cause flutter at zero degrees vacuum. Funny thing, it never pinged! just a slight flutter/cutting in and out. If I let up to 3" vacuum the fluttering stopped.

It will be interesting if I can hit 4000 rpm at the track. I am running the 612 jet and it runs plenty rich with tons of power however, I like the crispness of the #57. I am not sure if I would be hurting the times though with the #57.

I did buy a few more jets too try. A 62H, 64, 65 and a 66.
