I just went back to your 1st post. Is this a HI-PO build? If so you may need to go to a Mini Starter as your crancking pressure can get really high.

I have disconected all of the other electrical systems, the only thing I have hooked up is my starter and it gets out fast. I have also changed my voltage regulator, and my battery. I went from 700 cca to 585 cca.

Does that mean everything is ok now?

Did you change starters? and starter wire?
As a previous post mentioned your starter cable could be rotted out from corrosion if it is 20 years old. Same with the ground cable.

You should have the key off when changing out electronics.
