Hello everyone, I'm curious to if anyone could tell me if there is someway to modify my 3spd column shifter transmission into a floor shifter without changing the the tranny.

You might be able to find a floor mounted shifter. They used to be common but I don't know if you can still get them. Of course, it will require cutting and modification of the tunnel.

There is no place to nount a shifter on my 3 speed. 72 Duster with the non synchro 3 speed.

I have a 3 speed shifter in the shop. Not sure what Mopar it came from. No place to mount it.

I've seen them but it's been a long time. I don't remember how the aftermarket shifter mounts.

It depends on the brand, I've seen Hurst have aunit that bolts onto the original tailshaft pattern (column shift trannys will not have these bosses)... I've seen a couple that you bolt to the floor pan/make a bracket...but they are kind of 'sloppy', especially if your tranny moves around it can get pulled out of gear or worse if your bushings are shot...

I bought the hurst 3 speed shifter for my '64 valiant. No way the thing will fit without MAJOR surgery! Sucks because we really need a floor shifter in it because the colum shift is wore smooth out, hangs up in gear and there is no adjustment left.
