Chris, I just talked to Mike and he says there are more (and cheaper) motels near there, and they sound pretty open. I am going to show up and get something.

Sergio, that's great you're coming! Looking forward to meeting another West racer. I assume Glen is coming then?

Seymour, do you have an extra old helmet I can borrow for my 16 sec car?

See you all on Friday for the best pizza on planet earth...

Lou

I am coming from Biggs ca, 1423 miles. I have a driving partner, will try to put 800 to 850 miles behind us thursday and cruise in to Kearney around 6 pm friday evening. After the pizza and beer i wont care where i sleep.Good thing the track opens at 1.00 pm,i dont think we will be too sharp early saturday.Everyone be safe looking forward to a good time .EDIT, I am only running low 15S do they require a helmet? Glen was in Cheyenne around 5pm today so he will be there tomorrow,he harassed me into coming says he needs backup becouse the southern boys are going to gang up on him.

Lou, I have an extra I was going to bring anyway. Not a "legal" snell number, but snell rated and they let me use it for my 12 sec. car. (in the 1/8th :( )

Sergio. So far from what I see your going to get the "CARS Long Haul Award". Anyone else going to beat 1400+ miles????

I need to do some road checking. They are detouring MN Hwy 60 south of St. James. I'll take care of route B.
edit: If anyone wants to look at a map, from St. James we will go south on Hwy 4 to I 90. It only adds a couple miles, but avoiding the detour is priceless

Lou, I don't have any extra helmets but Denny who is coming with me might have one. I hope Glen isn't only coming to race against those southern boys. Maybe Chris, Ryan, and Mike Evans could pretend to be Dale Rose, Charles Myers, and Charlie Schmid. Practice your drawl, biscuits and gravy for breakfast, etc.

If Denny has a helmet that would be helpful, but only if I know by 3 this afternoon when I leave for the airport. No big deal as I will probably just bring one.

Lou, I just talked to Denny and he has a helmet but it's probably not the required Snell rating, you decide.

Lou, a 16 second car should not require a Snell rated helmet.

I can bring my Arai if you need it. It's outdated on the Snell number though.

I'll bring my legal, and not legal helmets. I am sure they are going to be cool with a DOT cycle helmet. It isn't like any of us are driving any faster than we do on the street without a helmet on :P

Looks like a chance of rain in the evenings for NE... at least it's not twister season  Been there, done that

Well, I can tell the story tomorrow night (hell, it's only about 16 hours from now) but for those keeping track online I was at BIR (Brainard International Raceway... where I should be passed out at right now if it wasn't for this hair-brain /6 race thing....) in Northern MN back in the early 90's for the Show and Go. Just hundreds of cars, but nice street/strip show cars and all hell broke loose on Saturday evening as the races wound down. We are all trapped in the under-track tunnel below the starting line and cars are flipping over, tents gone, trees down, etc. Not a great day.

And a little over 11 years ago the town where my shop is located suffered an F4. An F4 really makes a mess of a town of <400 people. Life goes on as long as no one dies, but it takes years to rebuild a complete town.

So!!!! Sunny skies this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
