I'm in the process of converting my 3 to a 4 speed. I'm using a 66 and up transmission in my 63 Valiant so the speedo cables doesn't fit the transmission. Does anyone if there is a vendor that makes a cable with the early end for the car and the late end for the transmission?

I think the magic item is the 1967 Speedo cable...it screws into the back of the OEM speedometer, but has the 7/8 speedo gear nut like the late trannies...I'm not sure if this is the "fix", but I know the 1968's use the same plastic clip on end like the late cars...

It might be nice if someone could see who might be making or can supply these one year wonders.

Good Luck,

-D.Idiot

The '66-'67 cable will do what you need. ATP #Y803.

I just realised that's the outfit (DeLuxe Speedo) I've been recommending for years. Definitely good folks.
