Problem is, all the rubber replacement mounts I've been able to find for several years now are 100%, imported CRAP. Got the last NOS, American-made Borg-Warners on my local, independent parts store's shelf a LONG time ago. It's all MIM, MII or MIC JUNK now in my experience.

If anybody knows about a source of good-quality, rubber replacements, please post!

Good to know about different folks' experiences here.

I recently bought some Korean-made rubber mounts that looked good to me. I have them in the Slantkota (240+ ft-lbs), and they are fine so far (only 5k miles). I will probably try the poly mounts too, FWIW.

I will probably drop a line to Johnny and ask him about the possibility of making some of these in a softer grade of poly; I would think those—drilled to provide gaps like the factory rubber ones have—would give stock-type levels of noise and vibration with practically endless lifespan.

I hope the upcoming version of the '62-'66 poly mount won't suffer from the same problem. That would be a big disappointment.

The quality of the Asian mounts is terrible, but I'd prefer changing them every couple of years to putting up with excessive noise and vibration.

I don't mean to dis anyone, so please don't take it that way. Dan's excessive noise may be perfectly acceptable to someone else. Everyone has different expectations. Personally I'm willing to tolerate some extra noise if it means higher quality parts and less maintenance. Also, I'm thinking a few well-placed pieces of Dynamat might help dampen it to acceptable levels. It's probably a non-issue for race cars.

Growing older is unavoidable but growing up is strictly optional.

Almost certainly not, because the '62-'66 mount has a lot more rubber (or poly) and allows a lot more engine roll by design. The '73+ spool mount allows only 3° of engine roll even with soft rubber, and has a relatively small amount of insulating material between metal elements. I'm going to talk to Johnny about the design details of the '62-'66 mount to make as sure as possible that we won't have a NVH issue with them.

And yes, everyone's tolerance for NVH is different (and yes, mine are quieter today than they were the other day. Still noticeably louder than stock, but not so violently so as when they were first put in. Perhaps they need to bed in for awhile.)
