Slanted minds,

After some deliberation, we have decided to hold this year's Eastern banquet at a new location that is quite nice, inexpensive, and very easy to get to. We will start the fun on Friday afternoon and go through Sunday. The main banquet and awards ceremony will be on Saturday afternoon.

See this site:

I have booked a large suite with a huge common room and kitchen for us to cook, eat, socialize, etc....

We have a block of 12 rooms (options: 2 queen or 1 king, non-smoking or smoking) held until Feb 15. You all will need to call and make your reservations directly. Please spread the word. You should mention our "Slant Six group" and give them reservation number 9083814.

The room rate is a very reasonable - $43/night including all taxes. There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi and it is very close to the Grand Hotel in Pigeon Forge that we used a couple of years ago. Gary and Barbara Bruner visited this new hotel and it is substantially nicer than the Grand - thanks Bruners!

All the best and see you in February!

Lou

Lou,

Do most people leave Sunday? If we were to come Friday night and leave early Sunday Morning (To go over to see my son at Knoxville) would we be missing a lot? Just wondering. May consider making the trip and kill two birds with one stone.

Rick

Rick,

That would be very cool, and you will definitely have a great time. The main action is on Saturday, so Friday eve to early Sun morn would be perfect. Hope you can make it!!

Lou

Hey folks, this is looking really great!

My guess is we'll have 35-40 people, and may even go above last year's turnout. Another cool part is that we'll have a bunch of new folks there, as well as most of the stalwarts!!

Sounds great, Greg and Frank! We'll be in the Slantkota or '64 Dart if the weather's good.

I have not thought about food yet, but we should try to cook some stuff for Saturday like last time. There is a good sized kitchen in the meeting room.

Thoughts on food from anyone else? Last time we had a bunch.

Lou
