When shopping for fuel hose for the Fuel Line Mod, I discovered that Goodyear has a new version of their SAE 30R7 fuel hose. In the Fuel Line Mod text it is recommended to use the SAE 30R9 Fuel Injection hose. The latest version of Goodyear SAE 30R7 multipurpose fuel hose is upgraded to handle leaded and unleaded gasoline, diesel fuel, gasoline blends of ethanol (E10), E-85 and sour gas. The working temperature range is -40 to 275 deg.F, that is 10 degrees lower in both ends than their SAE 30R9 hose. Working pressure is limited upwards to 50 psi, which makes it unsuitable for fuel injection, other as a return line. The main advantage is that the price is much lower than the SAE 30R9 hose. The hose is also built different from the SAE 30R9, so it should be less stiff. There may be other advantages of using the more expensive SAE 30R9 Fuel Injection hose, check the product sheet links for your needs. I bought my hoses on eBay (they are still underway by boat), and I recommend this guy (100% rating) for quick response, handling and shipping. There may be other manufacturers and suppliers that deliver similar hoses, this is the one I found.

While searching for hose, I also found an ultra-cool product, previously unknown to me, that makes routing hoses in nice bends very easy and very good looking: Gates Unicoil.

I do too, not too many years ago a guy was selling several inline manifolds for a reasonable price (Offy/Clifford)...I was lucky I got mine, I was contacted by e-mail that 3 out of the 7 other "buyers" got a box with 2 bricks inside, the seller walked away with about $1200 in MO's...and never got caught, just got bounced from E-bag...

Dan, if you don't even trust a manufacturers product data sheet, what can I say? These hoses are made in US and Canadian plants. If your attitude is representative for a north American customer, no wonder the Chinese can waltz in and take over! I must be real stupid according to American standards, I actually trust people to act with honesty and dignity against me, as I do towards them. I seldom get disappointed, but when I do, OK - a rotten apple - that's life! You guys make it sound like you're surrounded by scoundrels all the time, and trust nobody, and that's sad.

Well, to be more precise, I said I recommended the seller for quick response, handling and shipping. I said nothing about receiving, unpacking or quality checking or the color of his hair. I'll send a picture when I receive the bricks, or maybe just smile and enjoy my new, first class, cheap fuel hoses!

I have same issues with rubber stuff. Some are not good at all. Take for example PCV elbows for 2.2L, I needed 2. One started to drool oil and cracking. Tried NAPA, Carquest and Crappy tire. They don't have it except Crappy tire have one (junk) Help section which I grabbed as I had no choice. It's already split in a week. Sheesh. The longest I usually get is 1 to 2 years out of them. Had enough with that.

Soon I need to replace the fuel hoses (this is more recent hose I acquired 1 or 2 years ago) as outer jacket is cracking. Yes it is Goodyear 30R7 5/16".

Now what? Where I can get GOOD stuff with reinforced silicone material? Dealers are out of question also.
