2010 NHRA rule book, section 4a item 4 "frame".
Roll Bar mandatory in all cars running 11.00-11.49 (7.00-7.35 1/8 mile). In convertables running 11.00-13.49.
So, unless you are running quicker then 11.50, you don't need a roll bar.

I added one to Saturday list and we lost one for Sunday. But both days still look to shape up well and we have good money for the payouts.

Now for the weather?? Fingers crossed! :)

At each of the official Slant 6 Races points are awarded for each round that you win. If there are 4 rounds of racing 10 points are awarded for each round. So if you win the race you would get 40 points, plus I believe 1 point is awarded for just entering the race. If there is only enough cars for a 3 round race then 30 points will be awarded. A champion is crowned at the end of the season based on the amount of points they have won. There are some more details but that is the basics.
Many, if not most are there just for the fun and fellowship with other slant 6 enthusiasts. Others chase the points and are awarded their honors at the end of the year banquet at Pigeon Forge.
The link below is to the rules listed on the home page

If I can make it, I might be coming with a friend, and I don't think he is into camping out. He offered to tow my trailer with his "full size" truck. Thanks for the offer, and if I come alone, I will probably stay with you. It is still iffy, but trying to get my ducks in a row.

I think most of the guys camped at the track last year. There are some local motels listed on the Mason Dixon Dragway website. Give me a couple days and I'll see if I can check out some other Motels and get back to you.

Lookin Good!

I think Will From Glouscter (sp?) Virgina should attend if possible.

He has a nice car and some nice vids up in the V-Dragstrip Section.

You should check them out.

The vids were taken at the "other" maryland Track, MIR South of DC.

Yep, I talked to Will and he said he may try and make it. He has a great looking fast car. Hopefully he can make it.

I ran by Hagerstown today and got some info on a couple places to stay. A lot of places do not have much parking for car & trailer.

Hagerstown Hotel & Conference Center 1-301-790-3010 (3 or 4 miles from the track on the same road) They have lots of parking. $75 double occupancy, with Breakfast. I have been to the conference center and it was nice, but have never stayed in any of the rooms, sorry. They have a few rooms for Friday, and plenty for Saturday and Sunday as of today.

Hampton Inn 1-301-739-6100 $72 They have some parking but not a lot.

Those are very close and have lots of places to eat near by. If you find somewhere else you want me to check out drop me a PM.

Rick

Will Burns is the man from Gloucester, VA with the "so low" Cuda. He is a veteran Slant 6 racer who was running 10s by around the year 2000. Great guy and great builder/driver. Hope he can make it. I'm really looking forward to this race!

Thanks for the hotel info, Rick!

Lou
