I guess us guys with the stock, original, high mileage, daily drivers don't stand a chance. (not that it's a complaint)

Run your own number and let them run theirs. You will find out the one that can run their numbers will win.

It's not about fast. Last year at Mason Dixon a young man named Thomas showed up in a stock Swinger running 19's and took 3rd. At pittsburgh a few years ago my brother in law was driving a borrowed Scamp running 20 seconds flat and took 3rd place. Its about running your dial and a consistant reaction time.

Many times Slow cars run more consistent than fast ones. Your ET / Speed is not important it's how you run on your Dial (THe time you estimate you car will run).

Michele and I got a Room at the Hagerstown Hotel and Convention Center.

See all of you there!

Don't worry. I haven't raced in 30 years and I am racing one of the world's slowest trucks. Bone stock with 1 barrel and all. Still has the lean burn on it at the moment. We will help all the new folks get to the right places the day of the race.

See you there.

I placed the order today for the winner's trophies for Saturday and Sunday. Now you all must show up. Less than a month away!

For any locals who want to come and see how slow a stock truck can be;I'll be going to Mason Dixon this coming Saturday to run the test and tune. I have no testing or tuning to do, but since I plan on winning a race I need to work on my reaction times. This will be my first time out in nearly 30 years. I plan to be down there about 1:00 PM.

Rick

Thanks for the update, Rick. Maybe I can get a partner for last year's trophy?? Good luck w/ t'n't for your own body/mind and the truck.

I'll be t'n'ting the Valiant and truck over the next couple of weeks to work any bugs out...

Can't wait!

Lou

I'm still attending. I have to finish my seat covers and need a warm afternoon. I also have a one-barrel wonder. Let's review:

After the burnout (not), move up until the little yellow pre-stage light comes on. I will try and go around the water box.

Creep up just until the 2nd little yellow bulb comes on. If you go too far one of the lights will go out. Back up until both lights are on. When both lanes have both pre-stage lights on, prepare for action.

3 large yellow lights come down the christmas tree 1/2 second apart and then the green (go) light. Leave on the 3rd yellow because it will take time for your eye to brain to foot signal to happen.

The spectators will have time to get a hot dog between my take off and the end of the 1/4 mile.

At the end get in the return lane and go pick up your time slip and get back in line if you win or if it is time trials.

If you are able to get 2 or 3 time trials in, then you'll have a basis for your "dial-in". Don't forget the white liquid shoe polish. So if you run a 19.2, 19.5, and an 18.8 you might pick 19.00 as your dial-in.

To win you need to:

Get as close to perfect reaction time as possible without "red-lighting"
Run as close to your "dial-in" time as possible without "running out".
You can still win if you run out IF your opponent red-lights or runs-out more than you.

Hmmm yours just might be a tad slower than my 87. I have a super six on mine. I don't expect any great times.
