There is absolutely no chance I can get vacation time. I have 3 years vacation seniority, the other guy in my position on 2nd shift has 25+.

Sounds like some hookers and blow horse trading is in order, or just threaten to put Sandy on the phone with this guy...

If I could afford hookers and blow I'd keep them for myself.

Sandy is talented, but I don't think he speaks Mexican.

I still plan on being there, but most likely as a spectator.
Is there a "host" hotel/motel?

Roger

Lou, what was the motel right across from the greatest Pizza Hut ??? Western Inn or something??? It was <$50.00 a night if I remember and we had a blast at the pool till they shut it down.

Yeah, Western Inn sounds about right - great deal. A bunch of people stayed at the Days Inn just south of I80. There are TWO Days Inns, and Neal and I got the wrong one on the first night...

Lou, unless you have been talking to a bunch of guys via phone, this isn't looking good at all.

We really need to decide if this is going to happen. There are alot of things I could do this summer.

If no one wants a mid-America race maybe we should just support the events that are already established. I am not sure what the next closest race would be to MN. I'll have to do some reading.

Folks,

This is going to happen. Mike is going to double check with the track about having 2 races, one Sat and one Sun. I will post the result of that next Monday after Mike talks to him.

Here's the place a few of us stayed last year, right across the street from the Pizza Hut. Pool, nice rooms, low price ($50/nt).

Midtown Western Inn
1401 2nd Avenue
(14 blocks North of I-80 on right side)
Kearney, NE 68847
(308) 237-3153
800-333-1401

I will post an update as soon as I hear from Mike, but please plan on this and put it in your calendars!!

Slant on, mi compadres,

Lou

I got my truck fixed! (So what's $2000 anyway?...) Still thrashing on the racer, but working 50-60 hrs a week to pay up the truck bill is cutting into my garage time. I also did not plan on breaking my weekend bracket buggy, but I did. How do ya like that? Only lasted twelve years before something major let go (rear end) Themthere Mopars just don't seem to hold up, do they :?: Vynn????? you up for a road trip???

Don't hold yer breath, Rick, but I'm TRYIN' to get the Swinger legal and driveable for a 1,200 mile trip... I'm going to go ahead and ask for the time off from work, just in case. I've just got a lot to do, and not enough time or money (so what else is new?).

I'm not out YET, though! You'll be the first to know either way! Wish me luck!
