we had a great time in spite of not getting to race. The whole crew enjoyed the ride down Skyline drive , the tour thru Luray caverns, & the great steak & nice looking waitress in Weat VA. Meeting all of you guys at the track, the great slant-6 conversations, Sandy's Miller beer[thanks Sandy} On the way home we stopped off at Gettysberg, visited the musuem ,did the battlefield car tour ,stopping at a lot of the monuments, spent about 4/5 hours there. When we got to Scranton W/B areaa got aroom.Slept late ,headed home about 11 am. Got home last night a little after 9 pm. 1369 miles on the truck ,1600 plus on the van with no problems at all GREAT ROAD TRIP Again nice to meet all of you Probably wont make it again this year, maybe next year Ron

Ron,

It was fantastic to meet you and your whole crew. Pity we did not get to see your sweet Lancer run. Thanks so much for coming down! We will work on a killer race for next year, and maybe even one further north.

Glad to meet another branch of the Slanted Family!

Lou

It was good meeting all you guys even though I didn't get to run my car. If you reschedule I can probably make any of those dates.

Im up for anything just let me know when and i'll do my best to be there. Probably wont be racing but will gladly help wrench on anything that needs done. Had a great time and cant wait to see y'all again. Loved the drive and 18 mpg out of the dakota not bad for a chevy. Turboram thanks again for the ride and for showing my girlfriend how a slant should run! see everyone next time.

I still have some PM's and e-mails out to folks, waiting for replies. As soon as they get back to me we will make the call on the date. Hopefully by the end of the weekend. I have 4 that can't make it the 6/12,13 week, 3 that can't make the 6/26,27 week and only one or two that the 7/31 week does not suit. That mixed in with a lot of maybes and I'll tries. :D We will get it scheduled shortly.

Thanks, Rick

Like the title says, the re-schedule dates are July 31 & Aug 1. This date suited the most people and gives some people who may be traveling a little more time to save up some $$$$. I am sorry to those this date did not suit.

For anyone who wants to meet up at the Mopar event in 2 weeks, just let me know. I think Ryan will run his Dart that weekend so if you want to gang up on some V-8's let's make it happen.

I will e-mail the track and double check everything with them, but all should be well. This will still be 2 races, and hopefully some new folks can come to this second try.

Talk to everyone soon,

Rick

Rick,

Great news. We should have a good turnout. I'll have the V better tuned by then!

Lou

I can't make it back, either. Not enough time or money for another LOOONG trip (1920 mile), at this time. Even at 18 mpg.

Went to the Mopar event at Mason Dixon. Ran into Charles Brooks Jr. and one of his friends. Both of them are coming to our race on Sunday. Saturday is Iffy due to Charles work schedule.

Also met a new guy who was racing a Slant six Dart today. Clifford intake, headers and a 4 barrel and he was running some 16.4's with a 3.23 rear. His name is Ken Anderson and he will probably check in here soon. Welcome aboard ken!

I found a 66 valiant with a 4speed in the pits but no one was around. I left a note on his windshield about our race and left my phone number. Hopefully he will call.

Tony Walker from Va, who cut all of his lean burn stuff off and could not get his truck going for the last race is switching his truck over to the HEI set-up and should be ready to race with us that week end.

That is 3 new folks, and I am still shaking the bushes!! :D
