I don't think you can buy the replacement charcoal. I'd sure like to know. Anyway, put a cheap fuel filter in the line that runs to the base of the carb. That will keep debris out. I had the same problem.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can't replace the filter, but I'd like to replace the whole cannister. If anyone has a suggestion on that, it would be a huge help!

YearOne Inc. has them.

Do a search on line and look in their MOPAR "A" body catalog.

As a quick fix when they rupture like that put a fuel filter between the canister and the carb. That will stop the charcoal from entering the carb vent.

Go to an aquarium store /the activated charcoal they put in aquarium filter is exactly the same. inexpensive also

Buy the charcoal that is in a sealed cloth bag...........also the filters for icemakers are the same activated charcoal.

Activated carbon/charcoal from a pet shop (aquarium supplies)

You can also get the little filter bag there.


Or get what is essentially a filter bag from Michaels or Joanns craft stores. (wedding supply). Filled up a bunch with the activated carbon and attached to the underside of my bench seat to take care of the musty odor....
