Hey guys if anyone can help it would be appreciated...

Got a slant six 72 duster with a holley 1920 carburetor in her, and above the idle adjustment needle and a little further in and under the fuel bowl gas seems to be coming out when the throttle is pushed... Was wondering if anyone new as to what the problem could be...
Thanks!

It's probably just a leaking gasket. I'd pull the carb keeping the fuel in the bowl and place it where you can see the offending area then move the throttle and you should be able to tell where the leak is coming from.

Good luck.

You've got a leaking accelerator pump. The accelerator pump gives a shot of gas to the venturi when you push the accelerator. The pump is a spring-loaded diaphragm, and your rubber diaphragm is cracked or has a hole. It's designed to leak out if that diaphragm is compromised (theres a weep hole below the diaphragm). You'll need to get a good rebuild kit and replace that diaphragm.

The kit should also have plenty of other parts that you'll replace, so that may solve your other leaking issues as well.

Well I found out the carburetor it self had a small hole behind the fuel bowl, got it patched up and worked great, but then it DID start leaking from the accelerator pump as suggested so I gotta get the rebuild kit for it and I think it should be fine, thanks you guys for helping me out,

Now, does anyone know where I could get the rebuild kit for it?

These are the numbers on
6260 2
0323
It's a Holley 1920

Be careful there. That hole you say you've patched up is SUPPOSED to be there. It allows fuel that has passed through the compromised accel. pump diaphragm to drain out; it also lets you know you have a compromised accel. pump diaphragm. Now what is more than likely happening is that the fuel is building up inside that void space, and is now reversing back through the diaphragm and "leaking" into the venturi.

There is plenty of information in this forum. SlantSixDan would have already directed you to service manuals and parts lists, and educational books, but SSD has checked our for a couple of weeks. Use the search function at the top of the page, read the "stickies" related to carbs. BUT, you could just go to NAPA/Autozone and tell them what you have.
