What about Jeep wheels? Several people here in my neck of the woods are big on them. Are there any problems with backspacing on them, or is there another reason no one has mentioned them? I'm looking at a set of 15" 2000 cherokee wheels, won't buy them if you all have a reason. Sorry to steal the thread, just thought it was pertinent. Thanks!

I agree, all the steel rims are really heavy (unsprung weight). Aluminum rims can be really heavy too, so watch out. I always find out weights before I buy. The factory Mustang rims are pretty light for their size. There are still some decent tires in 15" sizes, just not a huge selection.

I agree about 15" tires. The 15" size is very, very popular with the Miata crowd, and those guys are all about performance tires, since the cars are not that fast. They typically are just not as wide as all out muscle car tires are. But, my Miata has the same width tires as my Dart, just a 50 profile instead of 60. The Miata owners who switch to 16's or 17's often times come back to 15's. Kinid of like the guys who put a V-8 in a slant car, and then come back to the slant eventually.

I suppose I will do a search for the Ansen Sprints to see what they are.

Sam

I have 4 sets of wire wheels all together - and the part that bolts up to the hub of the car is interchangable between all of the wheels... so I can simply swap them when I feel like it.... gota hammer those spinners on tight tho...

my car came to me with 13" steel rims but I dont believe them to be factory - as they are verry narrow almost like a trailor wheel would be
and I hated riding on those.... it was a task to find the correct size adapter to use the knock off wire wheels on my small bolt pattern car also.
