Hopefully the Drakes, Fosters, Parkers, were there.

"Keep the home fires burnin' please!" I'll be there next year.

Nope. Many of those folks have some other family issues to tend to that took some priority over the race. Best wishes to all.

Just 4 cars.

Round 1= Gary Bruner over Lou Madsen
Ron Hamby Over Greg Ondayko

Round 2 = Ron Hamby Over Gary Bruner.

I had tons of fun. Low car count this year :-(

Sorry, I do not have the times etc.. I Guess I am not that great of a reporter.

Pics and Video Soon.

Greg

Wow! Sorry to hear about the low car count. That's very unusual for this race.

I'll try to bring two or three cars next year to help make up for it.

I'm glad you all had fun and that Gary made it out there.

See you all soon!

Yep, a bit disappointing on the car count, but we had a ball anyway. I tried to find a driver for my Slantkota, but couldn't get anyone in it in time for practice runs, so...

Big thanks again to Tim Harrold at Empire Chrysler-Dodge. Ron H offered to only take part of the purse from Tim due to the low car count, and Tim insisted we take the $1500. I hope he will do that again. We figured out that Tim is the 2nd biggest single donor to Slant 6 racing ever, after Bob Stepp.

As Greg said, lots of family illnesses and committments, and possibly the rain forecast, limited most of our stalwart racers.

Also a big thanks goes to Kay Hamby and Barbara Bruner for setting up some great chow during the car show and again at the track. I think the staff at Empire appreciated this as well.

I got some tuning done on Project V and it ran a best of 9.08 @ 76 in eliminations in the Modified class. I was happy to go 3 rounds (down to 10 cars) in that class. Given the air/humidity on Sat, this car should go in the 8s this year.

Several friends of mine from Blacksburg and Mt. Airy, NC came over to watch, which was pretty neat. I might even have a Slant 6 convert or two?? At least I can probably get one of them to drive my cars/truck once in a while.

I don't have specific time slips, but I know that Gary was running right around 8.00 all day, Greg was at 8.75-8.85, Ron was in the 7.60s, and I was in the 9.0s-9.1s.

Hagerstown looks to be a big race, so hopefully we'll see you all there in 2 weeks!

Lou

Sorry about the low turnout. Hopefully next year will be much better. Did Ron or Gary give any indication on whether they would travel North for Mason Dixon? Hopefully they and some others will.

Rick

Thanks, Rick. We want to you see YOU there next year, pardner...

Ron said he's 50/50, but might be leaning toward coming since he thinks he might run 11s on motor there. I was workin' on him a little.

Gary, probably not.

Talked to Brian Mimken and he says he's coming!

Lou

I asked ron about that too.. Got the same response.

I hope he is able to make it.

Yay for Brian Mimken.
