Way Super Tentative for me, but it could be feasible that I may attend as a spectator at this one.

I should be getting to Kentucky the week before this race and will have plenty of de-compressing and settling in to do, but this might be a great distraction to load up the family and cruise up there just to watch and hang out with my "extended family".

We'll only have the Suburban at that time, but I'll be in the market for a Dodge truck and a project A Body for Chase...

If there's something interesting for sale with a Slant 6 in it, we could buy it there, race it, and take it back to Kentucky with us...

Yeah, that's the ticket! :D

Rob,

That would be sweet. I wonder if someone would lend you a car to run there??

Lou

Hey folks,

I have just received an generous and anonymous donation to the purse at Kearney.

There will be a $200 bonus for the car that runs the fastest ET in eliminations at this race. Might get Sergio to bring Mark's car and go head-to-head with Seymour??? Ryan? Mike? ..... :?

Thanks to all and see you soon!

Lou

That's great Lou. It however doesn't help me out. Anyone want to have a 20 second race? Closest to 20.00 flat without breaking out

Yep, we could have a 20.00 heads up bracket!

Doesn't help me either, but there are a few fast guys coming!!

I will donate $500 to the purse for the Kearney race. It can be distributed however the racers desire but I think we should use $250 each day. No other conditions this year, I thought I had a good plan last year until Sergio took all my money in the final.

Seymour,

Thanks for your generous purse contribution for this race! I believe we will have at least $1000 for the weekend, and likely more.

Maybe we should have another rollcall...

Looking forward to it,

Lou

Wow, this is great!

I may really be motivated to drive the '64 out from VA and bring 2 cars. Didn't know you had moved so close, GunPilot. We'll see what I can blow up on the track and then use your garage... I just drove my '64 up to MA from VA today and had a ball. Man, people drive slow... I think I barely had it over 100 twice.

Lou
Sounds like fun ;) Nothing says good racing like staying up all night fixing what you blew up. (Note to self: need shop fridge.)

With any luck I'll be running EFI on the Duster for the race.... (MS)

Rob Simmons! If you make it in here, I'll make sure you make some passes in a slant six car. Count on running the Duster.

I am definitely out. I lost first round at RT66 yesterday and effectively ended my points season, but I got an e-mail from my brother this morning. The folks estate sale is the 22nd, so we have to be there.

I still have my room reserved but guys, I just don't see it fitting in my life this year. I have soooooo much work to do and so many things going on this summer. I may have to skip it.

I'm still going to try, but I better put in some additional OT to get these cars done before I take a vacation. If I stay home I am suppose to take a Fire Truck to a neighboring town's 125 year Fireman's celebration and 2 weddings to attend. I really hope I am in NE.... I hate weddings. Well, maybe not the open bar at the reception

Chris,

Drinks are on me if you make it! Don't fall prey to the work pressure too much...

I just bought plane tickets to allow me to come to Kearney all weekend. I am committed!

Neal Hines will meet me in Des Moines, IA in my '68 Dart on Friday late morning and we'll drive to Kearney from there.

Mike in IA, what are your travel plans???

I can just about taste the Pizza Hut pizza now...

I am counting 8-10 cars right now, and hopefully I'm missing some.

Can we get the guys from Omaha to race?? Anyone know how to contact them (guy with '40 Plymouth and guy with D100). What about Lawrence in Kansas and the Texas crew??? You all need a roadtrip! Anyone local have a car for Rob Simmons to borrow if he makes it??

Cheers,

Lou

Missed it by THAT much this year. My wife got a call last night – she starts her new job tomorrow. If she'd been back to work a few weeks ago, I might've been able to make it happen... But she's been out of work since March, so money's been... tight... :(

I'm NOT going to jinx anything by mentioning next year, either, but here's hoping!

Hope you guys have a GREAT time! Take lots of pics, so I can race vicariously through you guys. And once we get caught up on bills, I'll get back to work on the Swinger, just in case there's ever another Kearney race in the future. :D

Color me jealous!

You guys are about to make me feel guilty if I'm not able to make it... I guess I'd better cash in a "kitchen pass" for this one! :D

Mapquest says Kearney is a little over 13 hours from E-Town... We'll only have one vehicle then and the boys will all be in school,... Anyone cruising through or somewhat close to Elizabethtown, KY on their way to Kearney?...

Dang it, that was bad timing. I just bought plane tix. I was contemplating driving out there on Friday in the '64 Dart, but decided it was too much. Might have worked since you would have been 5.5 hrs into the 18 hr trip. Hmmm. Maybe next year?

Lou
