I have heard conflicting reports about adjusting torsion bar settings.

I would like to lower my front end by just a little, say 1/2 to 3/4 inch. One person told me it won't affect the alignment; another person told me I'd have to have the alignment re-done.

Any thoughts?

You will end up with a little more negative camber, but if the alignment was good to begin with you won't have any issues. Check the clearance between the bump stop on the lower control arm and the chassis. You can cut down the bump stop if needed. On my race car I used some really short Energy Suspension bump stops. After that the limiting factor is the shocks.
