I have a 73 duster with a 225 stock. I wanted to juice it up to im going to get headers, 4 bbl carb and intake....so i was wondering what would be good gears to get that wouldn't kill my gas mileage, because its my everyday car, and i do a lot of highway driving.

I don't mind 3.21/3.23 gears, but some prefer 2.94 or even 2.76. It depends a lot on how fast you cruise and your tolerance for noise. Making sure the engine is tuned well will be key in getting good mileage. Offy intakes are good for daily drivers as the exhaust heat allows the choke to open quickly and the warm manifold is happy running slightly leaner than a cold one. Manifold heat is good for economy and engine wear.

Before investing in a 4bbl and manifold I would do cylinder head and exhaust system work. A head milled for increased compression with oversize valves and a bit of port work will really wake up the car when it's paired with a 2 1/4" exhaust system and a good muffler. This work will usually help fuel economy a bit and power significantly.

Don't forget to recurve your distributor to maximize the performance of whatever combination you put together.
