the old flatty runs like a dream, just isn't up tp running 75-80 highway speeds like i like to do on my way to an event, plus if i would need parts, they are getting hard to find, especially if you are broke down someplace a ways from home..
anytime you are in the area, you are welcome here to see what i got going in the hotrod shop, or just bench racing.
feel free to contact me.

My stock flathead Plymouth's (33(189ci), 34(201ci), 35(218ci)) run at posted speeds including 70mph with only a trans change to an OD.

Althought they don't have the guts of a 225 ci slant with OD like my 65 Dart it's probably less work and still maintain flathead as an alternate approach.

Two have Desoto/Chrysler OD's & the third has a T5 behind the flathead.
The Chrysler/Desoto OD works with the stock shifter & emergency brake maintaining an original interior also.....not just under the hood. They also can be easily converted back to the original trans to bring it to perfect stock by a future owner.

Modifying the waterpump using the guts from a 59 six pump in the stock flathead pump allows enough water to be pumped to keep the engine cool at 70 on hot days.

The bigger problem is getting them stopped.....discard undersized front drum brakes which you will discover fade out on your first exit ramp off a thruway...I used Volare/Aspen discs behind the stock wheels.
