Seems that my tranny is leaking it's juice out of the rear seal where the prop shaft inserts. Napa doesn't list any part (that I can find) that's a new seal. I have a FSM from 1965, but it's no help as it's for the trunion style output.

So - what's involved in replacing the seal and making this thing not leak? The rubber boot seems okay, but what keeps the gear oil in? What do I need to do?

There is an inner lip seal. The boot just keeps out dust and dirt prolonging the life of the seal.
