Did the Scamps come without vinyl roofs?

I've only seen photos of them WITH the vinyl roof and I'm looking to buy one that doesn't have it....just wondering if they came that way stock.

I worked at a dealership back then and they came with, without, also two tone paint though vinyl was the most popular. Just about everything had a vinyl top until the late 80's. Remember the padded 1/4 vinyl Charger roof on the 1977 "Midnight Charger"??

Fender tag could help as to how that car was originally built. Just make a tracing of the tag with paper & pencil, and decode it.

If you or a friend has a Year One catalog the have a good chart for reading fender tags. Now just for visual look for stainless trim where the roof line meets the quarter pannel and at the windshield post. This may tell you if the top was removed or had two tone paint. Two tone was one of the lesser options. The tops were spill overs from the Dodge "White Hat" days of 67. In the begining tops were painted or vinyl and alot of them were dealer installed. As the years went by they became more popular then they were factory ordered. By the mid 70's almost everything on the lot had them.
