Thanks for the words of encouragement Terry,

Update On the Progress:

I got the Other "headlight delete" installed. This took a while due to the major Gash that used to be in the Headlight Bezel area of the RF fender - I tried to smooth and remove as much of the dent as possible, but it was impossible to get it all removed, but enough so that it's much less noticeable.

After everything was complete, I Painted the plastic pieces and then lowered the front of the car so that the Bottom of the airdam is 4" off the Ground

Here are some shots of the other work:

Completed job: - Just need to lower the front end now.

15More #'s of Headlights, Metal Bezels, antenna,, and All the undercoating removed from the RF Wheelwell area.

Total weight loss since thanksgiving is now 239#; add 48 for the Fiberglass and 10 For the Front airdam that leaves us at 181#

Well I Have to report Ruster Lost another 16# when Switching from The Standard Econo Parts Store Group 24 battery To an Odyssey Racing Battery.

That Puts Us at 197# lighter than 2010..

And I still have the LF Wheel house to Scrape out all the undercoating!

I Also Corrected the Rear Battery Cutoff switch as per THE IHRA rule book; that the cutoff switch must cut the power from the Positive side of the Battery wiring.. I had it backwards last year.

Bet there is 10 to 15 that could bee taken out of the dash, just remove the glove box door and weigh it.I would also remove the grills and put THIN aluminum over the openings to smooth it out even more. You have those slits between the bumper that would let enogh air in,and you could drill some holes in that center section.Looks great, just thinking out loud.Keep it up.Mark

Oh yes I know...

My major worry is how to get the windshiled out Without Destroying it or the gasket..

On this car the Windshield has to come out so I can unscrew the dash from the frame.

I like to keep some stuff in the glovebox for now... I will get rid of all that soon enough!..

Flat sheet to cover the front grille area.... Yep That's in the works.. Also Get rid of the rear bumper etc!...

Thanks for the thinking out loud, guys... Not a problem.

Same goes For the Chop top.. I need to get the W/s and Back Glass Out first. I havent been too Successful on the Gasket window Cars - If they are "glued in" i have the tool for that - The gaskets usually mean broken glass for me. :-(

Gasket mounted glass has a key strip that must be removed before you try to get the glass out. Using soapy water at the edge of the glass where it goes into the gasket helps to slide the glass from the gasket.

so Helpful Richard!

Thanks!

And I was thinking I needed piano wire and a 4 leaf clover or at least the FRAM filter lepruchaun to get it out!

Well Mark Our Prayers are answered...

With Richard's Words of wisdom, Some Soap and 2 Body Filler Applicatiors I got The windshield out with out any cracks Gouges or breaks! The Gasket came out in one piece as well!

I never realized that the 68-up Windhield Gaskets were of the locking strip kind.. They kind of fool you with that design.. When it's lokced in it looks like there's no Locking strip. Not like a '64 dart anyway.

This Means More Jenny Craig for Ruster as That whole Dash Frame and Front and rear glass Will be coming out and being replaced with Lexan. YAY.

I will post Pics soon.

Thanks Everyone.

Greg
