Title says it all. Removed The Ersons 280 cam and spring set that wiped out my adjusters after a hundred miles, and installed a new 264 Comp Cam strait up. With 2.94 gears, its plenty peppy, and it gets out of its own way.

Rest of the build:
Shaved, Ported Heads with 1.77/1.40 valves
Decked block
Feather Duster Intake
3x2 Headers into a y pipe and 2.5 all the way out to a glass pack.

Idles pretty smooth and is pretty peppy. Sounds cool too.

I would suggest you get one of Doc's hardened gears for your oil pump.

I figured I'd keep the oil thin and the RPM's shouldn't go too high with this cam.

Oil is not the problem, It has to do with different hardness of cam and gear. Also how well they mesh (rough cut gear on cam)
