i think i need to tune my carb. it has a hard time starting after sitting more than a few days. it has a pretty new fuel pump and filter. is there anything i can do as far as adjusting the jets or something like that? i am pretty sure it is the 1 barrel, but it could be the 2 barrel. ways to tell? thanks guys. sorry i was not more specific, guess we have to start somewhere.

Do you have a factory service manual? There are plenty of pictures and step by step tuning how-to's in there.

The fuel boils out of the carburetor within a few hours of a hot shut down.
My Valiant does that.
Wanna prove it? After you shut off your hot engine, come back after a few hours after it cools down and restart it and run it for a half minute to refill the carburetor. Then shut off.

Come back two days later and it will start right up, unless you have it parked in the hot sun all day in which case the fuel will evaporate out of the carburetor again.
