Hello! Picked this 48,000 mile Swinger last year, late in the summer. Didn't get a chance to drive it much before the weather turned, so I'm dying for Spring. Got it out for a little bit today, but we're supposed to get a lot of rain tomorrow. Glad I found this site, hopefully I can find a 3 speed manual set up for the car. Here she is out and about today:

Thanks for the welcome guys. 48,000 miles, ice cold A/C, perfect interior and 110% rust free. And of course the Slanty! Found her tucked between two garages about five miles from my house. Here's some more pics:

Very sweet ride! And it looks like the previous owner was a Slant 6 fan by the looks of the front license plate!

Thanks. I've been a Buick/Pontiac guy forever, but always had a soft spot for the Darts. Would have been nice if it was a 70-72, but it's nearly impossible to find a body like this in the Northeast(especially at the price I paid for it). So I'm not complaining!
What's funny, is that I've had some really nice cars, but this car seems to attract everyone. I can't go anyplace without someone striking up a conversation about it. I think everybody 40 and over had one, or so it seems!

Cool Dart, its neat you found one in that good of shape in your part of the country. I think the reason everybody talks to you about your Dart is EVERY ONE had one! :D [/quote]

Sweet! Mine's the 4-door version of yours with only slightly more miles on it. Wish my vinyl top were tan like yours rather than black.

Oooooowhy wishing for a 3-speed manual trans? The 3-on-the-tree shifter is godawful.

I'm not looking for a three on tree Dan, I want a floor shifter. Why you ask, because I suffer from two diseases in this world: The first is that if I see a car under a cover in a driveway, I have to know what it is and if it's for sale. The second is that I just can't leave well enough alone and I have to mess with it. This car is an example of both!

If you are going to all that work to put in a 3 speed why not just go to a 4 speed with OD? with proper gearing you can have better acceleration and better mileage both. one man's opinion.

I have a 3 speed and factory shifter out of a duster/dart I would part with if your really interested. I'm in PA. Drop me a PM if you want to discuss it.

Rick
