Hey,

Is it better to have hot air going into the engine, or cold air, and yes I am aware that hot and cold is relative, but I think you will get what I mean, heat for example will be hotter than normal intake air because piping has run near exhaust pipe for example.

I believe the fuel should be hotter, to help with the combustion.
But I thought it would be better to have a colder air intake as the air will be more dense.

Thanks!

Things work best when the intake air temperature above the carburetor is between about 60°F and 100°F. That's what the '70-up thermostatic air cleaners are calibrated to provide to the carburetor. Leave the "heat for vaporizing fuel" job to the manifold heater.

Thanks, That seems like it should be a fairly easy goal.

Planning to run my air intake piping to the filter past the exhaust manifold I have, hopefully to get within that temp range.

Going to have lots of fun with piping on my hoilday break!
