If I have two exhaust manifolds with at least the front three runners good, can I cut them and create a dutra duals type header system without the heat riser and choke stove? If so, what other changes need to be made in the absence of the heat riser?

Curious.

Maybe, but I think you're going to get awfully close to the firewall with a front half used on the back three.
I have been working on using the front & back halves, and cutting the center dump out. Then using two different dumps, (for the flange), to put dumps on my improvised duals setup. So far, I've only gotten to the cut/grind/fit stage. Don't have a clue who around these parts can do a decent job of welding or brazing cast iron together. I do know I'm gonna have to find a greybeard to do it, though.

Good cleaning, fitting, pre-heating and nickel welding rod is needed to do cast iron welds.

Try it just for the Halibut.

Doc,

Henry Ford would be proud that you are using Kingsford charcoal…
