I know some tracks require a helmet no matter how slow we go. Does this one? Just want to be sure when we come down.

Rick
Not sure on that one; and I dont believe this is a"home Track" for anyone on the board here.

Go to their website and email them; they got back to me with the elevation.

Just FYI we all need to have a helmet.

From the track web site:

13. Long pants, shirt, shoes, and helmets are requirements in all classes. Fire suits required if mandated for your class or ET in the IHRA rulebook. No shorts or tank tops.

Do the helmets need to have a certain rating? Or just any ole helmet will work?

Rick

NHRA/IHRA requires a helmet on closed body cars, running 10.00 to 13.99, be rated. Snell M2000, M2005, M2010, K2005, SA2000, SA2005, SFI31.1A, 31.1/2005, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.1/2005 or 41.2A.

Some track rules and state laws require a helmet be worn in any car in compettition.

I have only had my helmet checked for proper rating twice.
I make this "assumption", and this is my opinion, so take it for what it is worth. If you run between 10.00 and 13.99, make sure your helmet meets the NHRA/IHRA specs. If you run slower the 13.99 (helmet not required by NHRA/IHRA), I think any helmet would comply.

Good to hear from you Ron. We look forward to seeing you at the track. I was talking to Gary Bruner and he said the Tn. crowd is planning on being there. It looks like its going to be a great turnout for Elk Creek.

Ron and Ron,

Can't wait to see The Two Ron's back together on the track. We'll have some newcomers from PA too, and sounds like a great turnout.

Slant on,

Lou

It is still very "iffy", but I'm going to try and make it, also. Since The Hagerstown race didn't cost me anything, that leaves some extra money available.

Feel free to stay at my place at any point in your trip. We are 1.5 hrs from the track.

Thanks. If I can make it up, I will probably take you up on that.

Charrlie,

If you were able to make it and went a few rounds each day I believe that could put you in serious contention for the east Points championship!!!!

Just sayin'

Not my post but I thought I'd update the list a bit.

Rick Covalt
Ryan Covalt
Micah Covalt
Whitney Covalt (If Lou's offer to drive the Slantkota still stands)
Rob Simmons
Brian Mimken
Ron & Kay Hamby
Lou Madsen
Ron Parker
Charlie Schmid
Lukus Bruner
Gary Bruner
Meril Bruner
Larry Chesney

Mark Charapich?
Sara Charapich?
Greg Ondayko?
Rodney Hargis?
Will Burns?
Local Wilkesboro folks?

This could be a 17 car race if everyone shows up!! Anyone else planning to come?

The excitment builds!!

Rick

Ron H said the TN crowd is coming. I edited your list above.

Whitney (or any other Covalt) is welcome to race Slantkota!
