Is there a particular place, where most of the racers will be staying?

Charlie I cant answer that question but the web site lists motels nearby in Witheville and Independance Va. We plan on camping out at the track.

I will either camp at the track, or just go home that night (1.5 hrs or less). I have lodging available at my place in Blacksburg, VA 24060...

Unfortunately I won't be able to make the race next weekend. Our dog Dixie is having some health problems, and we are trying to tend to her.

Best of luck to everyone, I will look for race updates as the weekend progresses.

Well,

I'm not sure if we are crazy or dumb or both, but I think there will be 3 Covalt cars leaving in the morning for Elk Creek. It is now just about 100 degrees and none of our vehicles have A/C. So it will definitely be Hooottttt!

But it looks to be cooler in VA, than here in PA. See ya all tomorrow evening!!

I'd say leave really early in the morning and you can hang out at my place in the middle of the day when it's hottest. 92 high forecast in Blacksburg and 87 high in Elk Creek tomorrow.

Good to hear you Guys are heading out.
I talked with Charlie today he was pulling out of Florida around 1:00 PM.
I received the purse money today from Tim Harrold and told him how much the Slant Six community appreciates his generosity. I am quite sure he has contributed more dollars to Slant Six racing than any single sponser over the last 11 years. Of coarse Bob Stepp has been a large contributer as well by sponsoring the National Championship points prize money for many years. It would be nice if we could find someone to again sponser prize money for our National Championship. Just saying. See everyone tomorrow.

Thanks for the updates, folks. I will have lunch with the Covalts at my place, and join the train to head out mid afternoon and be there before 5 PM.

Yes, big thanks to Tim Harrold for his generosity!! I agree on the points series sponsorship - hmmmm.

See y'all soon,

Lou
