Is there any difference in the internal size of the exhaust manifold on a "super six" optioned vehicle? I am going to update my engine with a super six intake manifold (I pulled a super six intake and exhaust recently at a junk yard) but I have a good exhaust manifold and don't want to change unless there is a performance advantage.

Thanks

Nope, they are the same. If you unbolt the intake and exhaust manifolds from each other you will need to have them ground flat after being bolted together. Otherwise the runners won't mate well with the head.

If your slant is early 70's or earlier (pre 1973) likely the exhaust choke coil pocket will be closed type and not open type and will need to be modified.

Look here at the supersix article and scroll down to "exhaust manifolds" for more details.

When you remove the current intake from the engine the exhaust manifold will also be coming off with it. If the current exhaust manifold your using on the engine is closed style choke pocket then your better off just installing the one that came with the super six setup.

Either way you choose to go check the exhaust manifold for leaks.
