Greg I know we talked about this subject.A few people running in stock class are using straight 20 or 30 weight NON detergent motor oil. And only one quart. Foot brake cars with automatics load the ring and the shock is not that hard on parts as say a stick or transbrake.(what I've been told) Now these guys change gears for track conditions and so forth and so on to run as fast under the index as possible. It's not like they put them together and leave them that way for years. If I ever go with a spool I would try to find the lightest synthetic gear oil possible. Now transmissions (manual) have been using ATF for years and the thought,,gears are gears. So ??...Some say yes,,some say no.
This is one of those subjects like what is the best oil or filter I should use in my car??. Just opinions. You never know if you don't try..........

I have been doing this for 12 years how much testing do you want. Not a single gear failure. But I did tear the flex plate into pieces one time going from first gear to second gear.
I would not live in Canada if I got a 100000 dollar a year pension. Thanks Ron :D

Curious Ron,If you have been doing this that long and have that many tricks, why no records?I didnt know a slant or a drag strip till 3 years ago.I know I have more tricks and hours,,,not money than anyone else in the world in my car, thats why I got 6 records,BUTT I dont think I will ever bee a Champion, cause I only consentrate on records.Red lite Mark....4 more records then I will switch to beeing good and consistant.

You hit the nail on the head, Mark. Fast/records are very hard to combine with consistent. Ron is a consistency king...
