Ok, not slant related, but it is for a 65 Barracuda. My 273 4 speed Barracuda needs a new clutch and pressure plate. NAPA, Carquest, etc don't have the parts for the 9 1/2 clutch. Any ideas where I can get parts, or could I substitute a 10 1/2 flywheel and clutch?

The truth is that the early 273 has the same flywheel size as the SL6 so you have the same issues HiPo Slant "shifters" fight.
Here is some info which may help:
http://www.slantsix.org/articles/clutch ... utches.htm

If you can find the HD 10 inch clutch cover and disc you can swap that onto your current flywheel / bellhousing and be done. (be sure to resurface your current flywheel to have a fresh surface for the bigger contact "patch")

If you are putting more power through the 273, up-grading to the larger (later) 10 1/2 set-up would be a good move. This will require a different flywheel, bellhousing and some bracket mods to make it work but it can be done.
(If you need one of these 10 1/2 clutch set-up let me know, I have a few I would sell)

This board, and you in particular, are a great source of help! I had an old slanty truck clutch laying about, and yes, it fits great. Problem solved!
I went to NAPA, and they had the correct parts in stock. I didn't thnk about the resurfacing issue because of the contact patch area, good tip.

The internet and having some SL6 message forums is great for all of us.
It use to be that phone calls and letters were the way these problems got solved. (and it took days and weeks)
With all the great Slant folks we have "putting their heads together", it sure is a lot easer to fix the problems and find the parts you need.
Glad I could help on this one.
