I finally got the K1 rods installed after having to enlarge the notch for the rod bearings- Overall not a difficult modification but certainly annoying!

On a positive note the deck clearance is less than .005" with this combo in a 84 block- I had been using a "known" clearance of.015-.020 for compression calculations until this point, which was only neting 8.7:1 compression- I still need to cc the head, but I feel better knowing that I have gained some compression from the rod and piston combo

I have also located an NOS mopar 240 hydro cam for the build instead of the Comp 260H grind- the mopar cam is only 240 advertised duration, but is much better suited for the application. It is giving up 20HP @ 4500RPM but makes more torque and HP all the way to 3500rpm. The truck has 3.21 gears and an over drive 4 speed which cruises down the road @ 1500 rpm @60mph, so it definitely should benefit from extra low rpm torque

With the extra compression gained from the deck height and the cam selection this slant should be right @ 8:1 dynamic compression without any further machining 8)

Good work on doing the "mock-up" and measurements... it is worth the extra time, in order to know exactly what is needed to get the DCR correct..
