Hello,

I just got a 750 Holley To try out on ruster.

Having never messed with a holley carb other than stock 1bbl stuff..

I ham having a fuel drip-leak issue with the 3/8 Inverted flare fittings that go into the fuel bowl.

is there supposed to be a gasket in on both sides of Holley part # 26-26?

I have the large 7/8" gasket on both the front and rear bowls... But is there a gasket that goes in the flare fitting location as well?

If we look at holley part #26-26 from the summit racing site, it has both the large and a small gasket pictured... Is my lack of having these small gaskets causing my fuel drip??

I have never needed to use a gasket on any other flare fitting I have used before so this is kind of giving me a challenge to get the leaks sealed up.

Thanks,
Greg

Greg, I have never used anything but the larger O ring type seal on the bowl side of the fitting.

I am interested to see how the bigger carb works too. :D

We shall see.

I know I will need to disable or modify the secondary accelerator pump shot.

The Primary accelerator pump shot might be a bit fat now... but It's hard to do any of that tuning if the dang thing leaks fuel on the headers.

Nope just the bowl gasket.. Sounds to me like a flaw of some kind in the line... I am not familiar with your build or carb, but a 750 is a pretty large carb...

Are you using just "stubs" and rubber hoses or the dual feed line? After time the feed lines do seem to "develop" leaks.

Yes 750 is a large carb, but this is an all-out WOT drag race engine in a light car.

I went from a 500 CFM carter AFB to a 750 CFM carter AFB and the car went 0.2 seconds faster.. Trying the holley HP 750 to see what it will do.

I am using the Fuel line kit, not the stubs and rubber hoses.. ordered 2 new part # 26-26's Maybve I over tightned the first time and caused a leak... also Tha carb was used so maybe there is other junk going on.

Here is some Info on this project.

Let's see? You have fuel leaks. And you need to start tuning it, and probably keep tuning it forever, and ever! Yep, you definitely bought a Holley!

Just teasing Greg! Hope you pick up a bit more. Soon you will be knocking on eleven's door!!! The company gets pretty exclusive there, especially N/A
Good Luck,

Rick

PS. Have a great wedding day Saturday!!

Got everything worked out on this..

THe Flares were not sealing correctly against the inside of the fitting.. Seems like a common problem..

I made my own flares on some 3/8" tube stock and left a little "cushion" in the flare so it would seal against the holley 26-26 Fitting.. The little cork gasket is for a holley ceramic fuel filter in the fuel bowls.. and You are never supposed to use pipe dope or teflon on flare threads - THe threads do not seal like in a pipe fitting.. THe flare does.

As I have never ever had any trouble with any of the 3/16" flares for brakes etc.. I was second guessing the 3/8" flares.. But I got it all figured out now.

Well, I use teflon tape on flare threads............

Not for sealing anything, it just easier to take things apart later if the pieces haven't rust welded together......
