The Car: '65 (?) Valiant 2 door, 170ci, Clifford intake currently adapted back to a 1 bbl carb, F-Body T5, annular t/o bearing w/ wilwood clutch master, 15" Cop Car wheels (geez are those heavy!), 3.73 geared Ferd 7.5", 11.75" front discs, bench seat (for now?). Named "Scooter" by my friend's wife and so it will continue to be known as that.
Old timers may recognize this car as I bought from a friend here in So-Ca after sitting for a number of years. At one time he was quite active here on this forum, and may still be I dunno. The T5 conversion was owner done, no kit of any sort. I helped with some of the bellhousing mods way back when (late 90's). My friend played around with a bunch of different intake configs, but this is how he left it.
He had started acquiring front disc conversion bits when other interests took over. Basic formula was a set of AR wilwood caliper brackets, late(r) spindles & rotors, and a set of willwood DynoPro calipers. I'm more in favor of the DynPro's as when I worked at wilwood I saw how stiff they are compared to the more common Dynalites.
Since the car's coming to me I've made a 2 bolt m/c adapter and installed a 1-1/32" aluminum body m/c, and installed the front disc parts that he had for it (UCA's, spindles, LBJ's). Still to go is the plumbing. Came with some braided SS hoses, but they would work better with 90°'s at the calipers so I'm waiting for those hose ends to show up. I nearly have a parking brake solution with the Ford axle, and am thinking to move the battery to the trunk so that I can use a V6 Fiero's canister air filter mounted where the battery normally sits. Using that air filter will make any future EFI plans a little simpler.
