I spent a full day swearing at a 345 Corn Binder. Lined the clutch up three times, checked to make sure the tranny was in gear multiple times.

Then discovered the neighbor kids had been playing around and put the transfer case in two lever neutral.

Thunk.

Transmission in gear, transfer case in gear. Fresh clutch alignment. Did it by myself with an old wrecker for a cherry picker. Nice to have the extension on the tow truck to move the engine back and forth.

I feel for you! It's frustrating to work alone.

I did the opposite of you (tranny back in after throwout pivot broke). It was a pain getting it back on with two guys. make sure that both of your descendants are disconnected from the t case so you can soon it. I'd install the engine, flywheel and clutch before installing the engine back in the truck just so you can make sure it's aligned and everything is on right. Then try to install the engine and since the output shafts are free you should be able to turn them so you can get the input lined up. Maybe a little lift on the front of the tranny will help. Try raising and lowering it when you try putting the shaft in, it could just be at a bad angle.

I installed my rebuilt A833 OD by myself, it slid right into the bellhousing no problem.

Have you turned the output shaft on the transmission, with it in gear, to try and get things lined up?
