Hey guys,
I placed an order with summit awhile ago for a 5 pack of the 90 degree fitting for SlantSixDan's fuel line mod. Well it turns out that Dorman doesn't make the fittings any more. Below is the e-mail I received from Summit earlier today.

You can just bend the existing line or buy the 12" pre-made brake/gas line line with the nut, cut it in half and bend it. Slide the fuel hose on and double clamp the hose. I have been running mine that way for about 12 years.

Aspen- Just do what Ted said and twist your current line, that's what I did and cut what's left over with a short piece to connect to the Carb.

Ted- Is that like a all rubber hose line? Is so, sorry to say glad you like living dangerously like that! I'd never do anything like that, I use as much hardline as possible. With todays crappy gas that can eat through rubber and the lack of quality of rubber products is just asking for trouble. I have less than 6" of rubber total on any of my vehicles fuel line.

I use fuel injection hose with a thermosleeve over the hose to shield from all the exhaust manifold heat.

Did you try Rock Auto? That's where I got mine two months ago. Use fuel injection hose instead of reg fuel line.

I did try RockAuto and I just checked again, they had it the first time I check but after I added it to my cart it would disappeared and the searches afterwards came up empty. Oh well, I've got a pipe bender so I'll just do that.

I must say, Aggressive Ted, I love that you posted all the pictures of your slant like that. It really helps a visual person like myself. So Thanks a bunch Ted!

Thanks everyone for the help, the answer is so simple that I shoulda done that from the get go, those fittings were going to be expensive from summit.

Yes, I believe it is 30R9....I have to check SL6Dan's posts, but I believe that is the correct line for the new fuel. My car is in the shop right now getting a new transmission so I can't run out and look. The lockup torque converter started causing engine vibrations, some fins apparently broke off inside, they blended themselves into shrapnel which ate the front pump seal causing it to bleed to death. I was able to drive it to the shop ok, but what a bummer. All I used in it was Dexron III over the many thousands of miles.........it got excellent mileage right up to the end.
I have raced the car several times at Pacific Race way here in Kent, Washington about 8 miles from our house. They just held the NHRA Full Throttle Western Sweep here last weekend. The tech's at the track have looked over the installation of the fuel mod many times and said it was fine..... They do have a limit on rubber on the faster classes, but not for over 16 seconds. Yes, you can use the braid over the hose, and better AN fittings and hose for racing.

The nice thing about a SL6, the passenger side never gets that hot, lots of cooling compared to the driver's side. On 90 plus degree day the hoses are only warm and do not contribute to any percolation like the stock metal lines. I used to listen to the gas boil in them during heat soak when I first got the car.

By moving the coil and stock mounting bracket from between the alternator and block allows more air flow. The coil used to bake in that location.

Apparently, they don't have them in stock either...
Cancelled my order after 2 weeks due to poor follow-up.

when i bought my car the origonal owner replaced the steel line with a copper line!! the fuel boilrd off soon as you would shut it off!
