Boy...I think I'm liking his style...

I think I'd be looking at the 1973-1974 'interceptor' hood scoop found on the 340/360 car, to go with that Lexus paint color... 8)

Yeah,... You made quite the impression on him.

We'll have to wait and see if he also follows in your path of bangin' his own gears or not... :D

Yep, the brains & red hair is from the momma...

But he gets his dashing good looks, chiseled physique, witty personality and excellent taste in automobiles from ME! :P

Stella towed GodsRods Duster II 125 miles to Clay City this weekend and raced herself (with Chase driving, duh! ). They made 21 passes between Friday test & tune and both Slant 6 and Super ET both days.

Best time of the weekend was a 19.08 letting off and top speed was 70.XX.

She towed us home with nary a glitch and is now sitting in the driveway awaiting her long promised list of upgrades following Clay City...

I'd list it all, but it would be exhausting...

Just before Clay City she got an oil change, new valve cover gasket, new oil sending unit and new rear shocks.

Stella has new front shocks, rear brakes, wiper pivot seals, 2001 Sebring convertible seats, Clifford shorty headers, polished Clifford intake and a Holley 350 CFM carb now.

Cool! Was there any "lockdown" mechanism you had to defeat on the '01 seatbelts? I ask because I have seen a bunch in junkyards where the belts are locked down and not movable, whereas mine were free to move.

Cheers, Lou

There were a couple others there when we got these that were locked down. These weren't though... So far so good... :D

He's done that a time or two...

It's been awhile since the last update...

We struggled with used carb issues and horrible gas mileage.

We broke down and bought a new Holley 390 for it and we're still fiddling with some tuning to get the gas mileage closer to something close to acceptable...

Next step is to swap in smaller jets and a 2 stage Power Valve.

We have a 3.21 geared 8 1/4 for it. We need to go through it first (donor car was in a warehouse fire).

I may be trading my Dodge Colt for some help on a paint job for Stella.

Chase and I will start sanding and prepping the fenders we got from CJ very soon.

The "Street/Ruster/ChumpCar Duster" will donate its fiberglass hood that will likely stay flat black.

And,... Drum roll please...

Latest color of choice is...

"Go Mango"! :D

It's more eye catching than the original copper/bronze color, but is close enough to avoid a complete color change and doing the door jambs, trunk, etc...

Chase is scheduled for a "Teen Street Survival" course mid May.

Those 8.21 gears should be fun for a block!

Mango. Hmm. Sounds like a color named by a chick.
Kind-of like playing with pastels. Might look pleasant, but he's going to catch as much flack as somebody, say, driving an early A-body painted pink!

Man-Go isn't too bad as classic high impact colors turn out...

Of course you can't have too much Mango:

Oops! I was thinkin' 8 1/4 already when I typed that I suppose... I fixed it.

"Go Mango" is a cool, coppery-orange kinda color... :?

:? :? :?

Another option my painter friend suggested is to repaint it the original color with some pearl added in to make it "pop" a little more.

Stays close to original with a twist and the paint will be quite a bit cheaper...

This weekend Chase and Stella had a lot of fun at the Tire Rack Teen Street Survival Course.

If you have a teenage driver, I highly recommend this course!

Stella was the oldest car there by 25+ years and the only one without ABS.

Here are some pictures of Chase putting Stella through some slalom and braking maneuvers. It really points out the need for thicker torsion bars and a sway bar!

Chase had a blast and learned some good stuff along the way. A great way to spend a Saturday!

I have a factory front sway bar that could fix that roll a bit...you just have to weld in the angles on the LCA's and bolt it in...

Looks like fun though.
