I am still waiting on a spring from walker parts for my carb and have a frankenstiened one in there for now between the main well and excelerater pump, the dart has been running horribly and I was going to leave it parked till the spring comes in. But I have a bunch of gas in there and thought I'd see what I could do since we were short on funds, so I did a bunch of stuff you shouldnt do with the car sitting cold, I pulled and cleaned the points and reset them, put the distributer back to a marked point where I had it running best after a friend helped me with a timing light, cleaned the plugs and set the gap, turned the mixture screw all the way back in by hand and turned it 1.5 turns out (1920 1bbl) set the fast and curb idle screws back to their rust lines :) from god knows when, all this done cold and car not fired for 6 days and now it's running better and making more power than it ever has, idling perfectly in park and drive, funny old motors I guess the new spring will sit in the box untill the car tells me it wants it.

That spring your running can't be too far off. Long as you get a nice healthy pump shot!

They just need a little love.... :)
I know mine keeps telling me to lash the valves again, the vacuum gauge keeps dropping. Not as crisp at it should be.

That spring was too stiff so I so I shortened it and heated it a little by little to soften it till the pump returned to the correct spot and so far so good, also found a small nipple on the points that I sanded off, and polished up the brass contact on the rotor. Gotta do what ya gotta do when your waiting for the break room to clear so you can shake the vending machine to break a snack loose for lunch ;) . I cant wait to see how it will run when I actually have some money to put into it and quit shining up old parts.
