Welcome to the forum! :D

There is a fairly current thread about an issue like this. Go ahead and hit the search button, and enter a few key words like, "fuel pump" and "prime"
You should find it fairly quickly!

There are a couple things that can contribute to this, a faulty fuel pump being one.
Check all soft fuel hoses. If the fuel hose used in the system is old and/or original, replace it. Replace the fuel filter while your at it. Use the metal type. The plastic ones aren't safe.

The cold starting problem can also be caused by a bad accelerator pump system in the carb. or non-working or mis-adjusted choke.

Gjason89,

As Doc pointed out, looking down the throat with the engine off, pull on the throttle shaft. Do you see a healthy accelerator pump shot? or is is it week?
It may be time to replace the diaphragm.

Old stale gas will also make it hard to start.

Perhaps the simplest problem may be that the fuel either evaporates or leaks out of the float bowl when it sits for awhile. I have the same problem with mine. It will start fine after the bowl fills up and before fuel leaks out, but it takes 20 seconds of cranking for the bowl to fill up after it has been sitting for awhile.
